ABOUT US

Our research group is aimed at improving patients’ quality of life and bettering their treatment by developing innovative medical technologies. Specifically, we focus on targeting metastatic cancer with nanotechnology, and on constructing miniature medical devices that couple diagnosis to therapy (theranostic devices). Our lab is headed by Dr Avi Schroeder, who has years of experience in nanotechnology and personalized medicine.

Dr. Avi Schroeder has translational experience with the development of liposome-based clinical systems.  He is the author of scientific papers in the field of nanotechnology and medicine. Schroeder is the inventor on 14 patents, and recipient of 20 national and international innovation awards. Dr. Schroeder is a scientific-entrepreneur, starting 5 successful Technion spin-outs.

Avi Schroeder

Avi received all three degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Ben-Gurion University. His postdoctoral training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2012). At MIT, Avi and colleagues developed nanoparticles that are capable of autonomously synthesizing proteins upon signal, thereby being a platform for on-site delivery of drugs and preventing damage to healthy organs. In our lab, Avi is building an expert team to work towards improved personalized and targeted medicine.
