Two PhD-Students Positions for Chemists and Chemical Engineers in Targeted Drug Delivery, Funded by Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Actions (MSCA) - INT2ACT

We are seeking students with expertise and interest in organic chemistry, lipid synthesis, lipid nanoparticle formulation, RNA delivery, and targeted drug delivery.

DC-13 project aims to develop RNA interference (RNAi)-based lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) as next-generation therapeutic vehicles for the treatment of solid tumors. A central aspect of the work will be the chemical design and optimization of lipid components to enable efficient RNA encapsulation, formulation stability, and targeted delivery.

DC-14 project focuses on the development of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) carrying messenger RNA (mRNA)-based therapeutics for targeted delivery to the tumor microenvironment (TME) in breast cancer. The central aim is the chemical design and optimization of lipid components to generate LNPs with efficient mRNA encapsulation, stability, and controlled release, while incorporating targeting strategies to ensure selective uptake by triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) microenvironment cells.

The closing date for applications is July 20, 2026.

Eligibility:

- Master’s degree in Organic chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related fields.

- Outstanding candidates holding a BSc degree may be considered for enrolment in Technion’s Direct PhD Track program, subject to approval by the faculty and the Graduate School.

- Applicants must be doctoral candidates, i.e not already in possession of a doctoral degree.

- Mobility rule: researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before their recruitment date
